What is Trulicity?

• Active ingredient: dulaglutide, a weekly injectable GLP-1 receptor agonist used to manage type 2 diabetes—and, in the U.S., also approved to reduce cardiovascular risk in patients with heart disease

• Available in four strengths:

  • 0.75 mg in a 0.5 mL pen

  • 1.5 mg in a 0.5 mL pen

  • 3 mg in a 0.5 mL pen

  • 4.5 mg in a 0.5 mL pen C

🧪 How it’s used (dosing)

• Adults:

  • Start with 0.75 mg once weekly as monotherapy.

  • If needed, increase to 1.5 mg after ≥ 4 weeks, and then up to 3 mg, and finally 4.5 mg weekly, with at least 4 weeks between dose changes 

• Pediatrics (≥ 10 years):

  • Begin at 0.75 mg weekly, may increase to 1.5 mg after 4 weeks; max daily dose is 1.5 mg
