Composition
per ml:
Amoxicillin (trihydrate) 140 mg; clavulanic acid 35 mg.
Pharmacological properties
Association of antibacterials whose justification is based on the extension of the spectrum of amoxicillin against germs producing lactamases.
Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid have similar pharmacokinetic parameters. They are distributed well and rapidly throughout the body reaching high concentrations in muscle, liver, kidney and intestinal tract. It has a poor binding to plasma proteins.
Interactions and incompatibilities
Do not administer together with bacteriostatic anti-infectives (tetracyclines, chloramphenicol and sulphonamides).
Indications and species of destination
Cattle, Pigs, Dogs and Cats: Infections caused by sensitive germs located in the digestive tract, urogenital, respiratory, skin and soft tissues, as well as bacterial complications sensitive to amoxicillin.
Contraindications
Do not administer to animals with a history of allergy to b lactam antibiotics, or to rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters.
Side effects
Sensitization reactions whose severity can vary from a simple urticaria to an anphylactic shock. Occasionally, hematologic dyscrasias and colitis.
Route of administration
Cattle and Pigs: Intramuscular. In bovidae the administration will be alternately on each side of the animal.
Dogs and cats: Intramuscular and subcutaneous.
Posology
Cattle, Pigs, Dogs and Cats: 0.50 ml / 10 kg p.v./day.
- Do not prolong the treatment more than 3 5 days.
