roduct Name
- Jardiance 10 Mg, Reduce Blood Glucose Level & Prevent Diabetes Complications - 30 Tablets
Scientific Name
- Empagliflozin 10 Mg Tablets
Category Of Jardiance 10 Mg Tablets
- Oral Anti-Diabetic Drugs
Mechanism Of Action Of Empagliflozin
- Empagliflozin works by inhibiting the sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT-2) found in the proximal tubules in the kidneys. Through SGLT2 inhibition, empagliflozin reduces renal reabsorption of glucose and increases urinary excretion of glucose.
Therapeutic Indications Of Jardiance 10 Mg Tablets
- Empagliflozin is used to treat type 2 diabetes in adult patients (aged 18 years and older) that cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone.
- Empagliflozin can be used without other medicines in patients who cannot take metformin (another diabetes medicine).
- Empagliflozin can also be used with other medicines for the treatment of diabetes. These may be medicines taken by mouth or given by injection such as insulin.
- It is important that you continue with your diet and exercise plan as told by your doctor, pharmacist or nurse
Method Of Administration Of Jardiance 10 Mg Tablets
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure
- The starting dose of Empagliflozin is one 10 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor may decide whether to increase your dose to 25 mg once a day
- Do not change your dose unless your doctor has told you to. Swallow the tablet whole with water
- You can take the tablet with or without food
- You can take the tablet at any time of the day. However, try to take it at the same time each day. This will help you to remember to take it.
- Appropriate diet and exercise help your body use its blood sugar better. It is important to stay on the diet and exercise program recommended by your doctor while taking Empagliflozin
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
