Atromed 100 ml ( Atropine )
Atromed
AtromedAtromed
Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
Atropine Sulphate 600 µg
Equivalent to Atropine base 249.84 µg
Properties:
Atropine, the prototypical muscarinic blocking agent, is an alkaloid extract from the belladonna plants.
Atropine sulphate interacts with muscarinic receptors of effector cells and by occupying these sites prevents Ach from affixing to the receptors area. Physiologic responses to parasympathetic nerve impulses are thereby attenuated.
Indications
Preanesthetic with volatile anesthesia in pet animal.
Antimuscarinic use (Drying secretions - Gastro-intestinal disorders characterized by smooth muscle spasm).
Antidote for Organophosphorus poisoning.
Hypersialism
Target Species: Horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs & cats
Dosage instructions:
I) Antimuscarinic use, by subcutaneous injection.

Warnings & Precautions
Systemic atropine should be used cautiously in horses as it may decrease gut motility and induce colic in susceptible animals.
It may also reduce the arrhythmogenic doses of epinephrine.
Use of atropine in cattle may result in inappetance and rumen stasis which may persist for several days.

Milk:3 days (antimuscarinic use), 6 days (antidote use).
Sheep, pigs:slaughter 14 days (antimuscarinic use), 28 days (antidote use)
